Privacy Policy
How we handle your data
Last updated: August 2026
The short version
Chitta has no accounts, no sign-in, and no database. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and we don't track you across the internet. Your study is your own.
Who we are
Chitta (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates the website at chitta.app. If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect
No account data. There is no sign-up and no login, so we hold no name, email address, or password for you.
Study data stays local. Which chapters you have opened is remembered in your own browser using localStorage, so the site can show your progress. It is never sent to us, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browsing data removes it.
Usage data. We may collect basic, aggregated analytics such as page views to understand which texts people read. This is not tied to any identity.
Third-party services
Chitta is a static site. Beyond our hosting provider, which sees standard web server request logs, we do not send your data to any third-party service.
Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. Your preferences and study data are kept in your browser's localStorage, which never leaves your device.
Your rights
Because everything is stored in your browser, you can erase all of it yourself at any time by clearing your browsing data for this site. If you have any question about your data, reach out through our contact page and we'll respond as quickly as we can.
Data security
The site is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We hold no database and no personal data, so there is nothing on our side for anyone to breach. Data kept in your browser is protected by your own device and browser security.
Children
Chitta is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children — and since there are no accounts, we collect no personal data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll post a notice on the site. Continued use of Chitta after changes means you accept the updated policy.
